Circle of the Gold Luncheon

Circle of the Gold Society

PrintAn opportunity to honor our Circle of the Gold Society members is its annual luncheon held in the Ted & Barb Dankert Trustee Room at the Hubbard Welcome Center. All those with a Declaration of Intent on file at the Foundation are celebrated at the event and those who are new to the Circle of the Gold Society are recognized.

The Circle of the Gold Society honors those visionary donors who make a planned gift to Butler Community College.  Typically realized when the donor dies, planned gifts can be appreciated assets, real estate, will bequests, insurance policies and trusts.  “It is a matter of getting your financial house in order,” Chief Advancement Officer Stacy Cofer said.  A compelling reason for a planned gift is to preserve the wealth that donors worked hard to accumulate.  Donors are encouraged to leave a portion of an estate to a charity where it can exist in perpetuity.  Cofer adds, “I hope donors will make Butler their charity of choice.   At the foundation we are committed to being vigilant stewards of donors’ gifts.”

Although the ‘How’ is important in planned giving, the ‘Why’ is just as essential.  What values and beliefs inspire those to make a legacy gift to Butler?  Some questions to ask as you consider a planned gift to Butler:

  • * How has Butler made a difference in your life?
  • * What do you believe about the future of Butler?
  • * Without considering money, what would you like to do for Butler?
